The Decathlon NI Triathlon Series (DNITS) has been created in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board to bring together a series of triathlon races in a number of different stunning locations in Northern Ireland. The intention is to use the DNITS to help to promote NI, its natural geography, its strong local communities and the sport of Triathlon around the world.
Olympian Triathlon Club in conjunction with the Pioneer Group, welcomed 70 young athletes to the Kids Aquathon at Olympia Leisure Centre in Belfast. This Triathlon Ireland sanctioned event was open to competitors aged from eight to eighteen and to both able-bodied athletes and athletes with disabilities.
Johnny Davis, Managing Director of the Pioneer Group and member of Olympian Triathlon Club commented, “Congratulations to all those who took part in our Junior and Kids Aquathon yesterday. It was great to see so many happy smiling faces all putting so much effort into the event.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in yesterdays race - was a fantastic turnout from the club. Another blistering performance from Paul Carroll. Special mention to several new Olympians who took part in their first race achieving some very respectable results. Click [HERE] for club results.
We had 2 Olympian wins this weekend. First Paul Carroll claimed an age group victory at the Irish Duathlon Championships Burnfoot Donegal, taking 4th place overall. Paul has burst onto the Irish multi-sport scene and is already shaking things up at the front.
Tom Donnelly Memorial - The memorial cycle ride will take place on Sun 25th April, meeting at the entrance of Roselawn Cemetery at 10am. As has now become tradition there will be a short moment of reflection at the graveside and the various groups can then head off on their usual Sunday rides.
