TT

Thanks to Desi, Glenn et al the TT series starts again 30th March ....

Welcome to Legends TT 2010
For the 2010 season we are keeping to a similar format to last year.

Who can enter?
The Legends TT is for Lunchtime Legends, Olympia and QUB triathletes only. The aim is to provide training sessions that will improve cycling for triathlon in a fun format. Special guests are welcome by invite but bare in mind we are not a cycle club.

When

and where are the the races?
The race calendar can be viewed at the bottom of this page. The TTs will take place on Tue nights at 18:45pm sharp from various locations - please see links to maps on the right of this page.

What is the League?
The league is a series of 12 individual races with a competitor's best 6 results counting. Non-league races are made of duathlon training sessions (bike - run), 2UPs, hill races or handicaps. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the season. All money made from the races is put into the prize giving.

A 2UP race involves 2 people starting out together and completing the course as a team. Teams are picked by splitting the field in two based on previous performances and pairing one rider from the top half with a rider from the bottom half.

In the first type of HANICAP race people are given a time bonus which is subtracted from their final time. The amount of time given is based on previous results and riders will not be told their time bonus until after the race. The second type of handicap is a slowest to fastest time staged start with the first person across the line the winner!

How much does it cost?
People are encouraged to pay a one off payment of £20 at the start of the season. You can also enter individually on a night for a cost of £4. Depending on numbers there may need to be a cut-off.

Time keeping?
Time keeping duties will be shared each week between the competitors.

Legal stuff
Competitors must sign a waiver form and provide next-of-kin details before being allowed to join in. All competitors are encouraged to purchase full or associate Triathlon Ireland (TI) membership.

Tuesday saw 15 turn out for the time trial - not bad considering it was a bank holiday and the weather had been awful earlier in the day. It would be good to see a few more Olympians taking part - it certainly is a great training session. Thanks to Desi and Wes for officiating.
Hoping to see you all next week
